...you threaten to start school without a child and he freaks out.
This happened this morning because Logan was dawdling with his chores. I really wanted to get started and Annie was ready too. So I warned Logan that we might start without him. He didn't like that. It was amazing how fast he finally finished his chores! Yes! :)
Logan's in my primary class, along with Devon's Tres. What a joy they are going to be to teach! The other boys are also readers. I've taught 5-year-olds so many times; it's amazing what a big jump they make in that year.
ReplyDeleteI taught both my younger boys to read; one at 4 (almost picked it up on his own really) and one at 6 with a concentrated phonics program...well, we started out with McGuffey Readers and that gets boring in about 5 minutes so we soon switched to Bank Street Early Readers. How excited they are to go up a level, which happens quickly.
Not sure why I'm sharing that. I'm so excited about the way you teach your kids; it's home school the way I wish I had done it.
Thanks Lynn! It's always nice to hear encouragement on the homeschooling front. I'm excited you're their new teacher too. I think they're going to love you!
